Aldi Ireland has asked for a three-month extension to respond to a Further Information request from Roscommon County Council, concerning its proposed food store development in Boyle.
The request, first issued on 22nd April of this year, relates to detailed updates and substantial additional material Aldi must provide.
Earlier plans include demolishing derelict structures behind St. Patrick Street, refurbishing a terrace into five residential units, and building a single-storey discount food store with parking, cycle spaces, solar panels and illuminated signage.
There were five submissions on the application with one withdrawn.
Of the remaining four submissions, two requested a refusal.
Aldi’s agents say more time is needed in order to fully address concerns raised.
Roscommon County Council must now decide whether to grant Aldi the extra time.
