The 29th annual Strokestown Easter Parade is taking place later today.
The parade is due to get underway at 3pm with large crowds expected to attend.
Organisers made the decision to leave the parade on Easter Sunday this year despite Roscommon playing Galway this afternoon in Salthill.
Local man Eugene Murphy says the parade should be finished in time for people to enjoy the big game.
Some short delays are expected on the N5 Dublin/Westport Road between 3 and 4pm.
A large crowd is expected in the county Roscommon Town and the organising committee appeal to all motorists to cooperate with An Garda Síochána and the stewards.
All pedestrians are asked to be extra careful when crossing streets and adults are asked to ensure that children are not allowed to wander around streets without parental supervision.
A large number of floats are expected to participate with the theme of the parade Our children/Our future.
