A Leitrim village has been praised for its efforts in welcoming those seeking international protection.
The decision to house asylum seekers in Dromohair has proven divisive and was subject to a High Court ruling in 2024.
It ruled that the use of Abbey Manor Hotel in the village by Dromapop was not unlawful.
This was after Leitrim County Council declared Dromaprop’s certificate invalid.
A local member of the Labour Party says despite a difficult start, those staying at the IPAS centre have settled in well.
