A county Leitrim woman has been elected as President of the Dublin City University Students Union for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Katherine McBride, who is studying Economics, Politics and Law, is a native of Dromahair.
Ms McBride topped the poll, with 1,551 first preference votes and was elected on the first count.
She is the first female president of the student representative body since 2019.
Shane Murphy from Lecarrow in Roscommon is the current President.
