Over €13,000 was spent by local County Councils on trips to America this year to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
Roscommon County Council spent the most of the three local authorities, with Leitrim the most frugal of all County Councils in Ireland.
Details released to journalist Ken Foxe and the story.ie reveal that Longford County Council spent just over €5,000 on sending a delegation to the USA for St Patrick's Day.
Flights for Paddy Mahon, John McKeon, and Councillors Mick Cahill and Colm Murray cost over two thousand euro - with the Colehill representative paying for his flights out of his own expenses.
Accommodation and flights in economy class of Aer Lingus came to a total of €4700 - with expenses stateside amounting to just under €350.
Leitrim County Council spent the least amount of money being represented officially in New York for the March 17th festivities.
Councillor Enda McGloin travelled to the USA on foot of an invite from the Leitrim Society of New York with the trip costing a total of €1,937.11 including flights, accommodation and a ubsistence allowance.
Three Roscommon County Council officials travelled to America in March - Shane Tiernan, and Councillors Joe Murphy and Laurence Fallon.
The entire trip, lasting four days in New York cost a total of €6,829 - including flights and three rooms at a hotel off Times' Square costing a total of €5,575.
Overall, €13,809 was spent by the Councils locally.
