Councillor says 'drugs are rife' locally as number of convictions rise

Locally, Roscommon District Court saw the biggest percentage increase last year, with the number of convictions doubling to 26.

A 24 per cent increase in convictions for drug offences has been recorded in 2025.
31 took place last year.

While there was a 8 per cent increase at Carrick on Shannon District Court.
