Councillor highlights desperate need for more mental health resources in Roscommon

The Independent councillor says she was contacted by a member of the public who couldn't access resources locally.

A Roscommon Councillor says funding must be made available for acute mental health resources in the county.

Cllr Emer Kelly raised the issue at the recent Regional Health Forum due to the lack of available services.

The HSE said a plan was being developed for increased services as part of the proposed psychiatric unit in Roscommon.

She described the current situation in the county as 'disgraceful':
