A local councillor has confirmed traffic lights and footpaths are in the works at a new sensory playground in Longford Town.
The play area was officially opened by Rural and Community Development Minister Dara Calleary yesterday evening.
The amenity is located at the former Greyhound Track on Park Road, and was designed for young people with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Locals have raised concerns about traffic in the area and how this could affect children attempting to cross from the top of the road to access the playground.
