Longford County Council has begun a roll out of safety sign installations at housing estates across the town.
The safety works are part of a new campaign to tackle speeding in residential areas highly trafficked by children.
The signs have been installed at MacEoin Park and Springlawn in the town today, with other estates such as Farranyhoogan, Ardeevan and Grian Ard to be covered over the coming weeks.

The works follow a motion from Longford Councillor Gerry Warnock calling for new safety measures in local housing estates.
