Controversial Strokestown revamp could be changed, claims government senator

A Fianna Fáil senator has raised hopes that a controversial revamp of Strokestown could be changed.

The state recently allocated almost €8 million to a public realm enhancement for the town.

But protests have been held as many residents and businesses are concerned that up to 90 per cent of car parking in the town will be lost.

Local senator Eugene Murphy says the plan could be redesigned, on foot of their concerns.
