A local TD believes that ongoing consultation with locals is vital for integrating asylum seekers into communities.
It comes after protests had been held in Dromahair over the weekend due to the proposed housing of asylum seekers in the town.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin said it's key that there isn't a split in the community.

Deputy Harkin added that she hopes in future months that communities are seen to be working with asylum seekers:
