Construction work will start early next year on 51 council houses in south Roscommon.
Plans are also progressing for several other social housing developments throughout the country.
The large development in south Roscommon will see 51 two and three-bedroom houses built in Sli an Choiste, Monksland.
The development got the planning go-ahead earlier this year and design is now ongoing.
The council says it expects to start construction in the first three months of next year.
The local authority is also building 16 houses in Curlew View in Boyle.
Work is well under way and they're due to be finished by the end of the year.
Four homes have also been completed in and around the disused courthouse in Elphin.
They're now waiting for water and electricity connections before they're handed over to the council.
Six homes are also due to be finished by the end of this month at Caslin Way in Strokestown.
