Concerns have been raised locally about the qualification of some private home care workers across Co. Leitrim.
Councillor Gary Prior is raising a motion at next week's county council meeting to increase checks on staff hired by private home care services.
He is calling on the council to seek clarity from the HSE on how private services in the county are being overseen in the county.
The Fianna Fáil representative is also seeking information about workers' driving licenses as well as the training they have received.
