Concerns over state of CAMHS intensify

A report published last October found over 400 children are waiting more than six months to access mental health services locally.

Concerns over the state of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the Shannonside region have intensified.

It provides assessment and treatment for young people aged under 18 who are experiencing mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety or dealing with an eating disorder.

A report published last October found over 400 children are waiting more than six months to access mental health services locally.

Sinn Féin TD Sorca Clarke has renewed calls for immediate investment, staffing supports, and greater accountability in the service.

Deputy Clarke, who's her party's Spokesperson on Mental Health says a number of measures need to be taken:
