There have been 27 commencement notices recorded across the Shannonside region in the first two months of the year.
The figure is significantly down from the same period in 2024.
A Commencement Notice is a notification to a Building Control Authority that a person intends to carry out works or a material change of use to a building.
Leitrim and Longford have both seen the highest amount of commencement notices recorded in the region so far this year with 11.
That's an increase on the same period last year where there was 10 recorded in Leitrim and 6 in Longford.
Roscommon has seen a significant decrease so far this year with just 5 recorded.
That's down from 28 in the first two months of 2024.
The data shows that 1,017 homes commenced across the country in February.
