A Leitrim councillor has called on Local Link to extend its services in the south of the county to make it easier for people to socialise. Cllr Brendan Barry raised the motion at this week's meeting of Ballinamore Municipal District. The Sinn Féin councillor wants the service between Carrick-on-Shannon and Newbridge expanded at weekends and late at night.
The 11319 route also serves Keshkerrigan, Drumcong, Drumshanbo, Dowra and Ballinaglera from Monday to Saturday. Cllr Barry says extending the service would benefit residents as well as local businesses:
