Classrooms not safe for students says local MEP

It comes as schools re-opened yesterday.

There's little use in vaccinating children if the government aren't safeguarding classrooms according to a local MEP.

Luke 'Ming' Flanagan says students are spending their days in freezing classrooms and are making themselves more susceptible to illness.

The independent MEP along with several teachers unions are criticising the Department of Education for failing to provide HEPA filtration systems and high quality masks to schools.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound today, the Roscommon native says many students face increased risks of infection under current guidelines.
