Zero is the best policy when it comes to socialising and driving this Christmas. That's the message from the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit as they continue to carry out checkpoints across the county. It's part of a nationwide Christmas Road Safety Campaign which runs until January 5th.
174 people died on Irish roads in 2024 and this year's figure has already surpassed that. Sergeant Stephen McDonagh is encouraging people to get home safely this year:
