Castlerea swimming pool now open for the summer

The outdoor, heated swimming pool in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, is opening today.

It will remain open until September 1st, with the opening largely coinciding with children's summer holidays.

It will be open every Wednesday to Sunday, with morning, afternoon and evening sessions.

There was a slight delay with the opening this year because of a problem finding lifeguards.

Local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is pleased that has now been resolved, with the pool opening at 11 o'clock this morning.
