Castlerea's latest world champion will be given a hero's welcome home this evening. Aoife O'Rourke's five-nil, unanimous decision victory over her Turkish opponent saw her win the gold medal in the 75kg division in Liverpool. Her sister Lisa, who also contested the championships, won the 2022 world championship in the light middleweight category.
Both O'Rourke sisters will be welcomed home with a special celebration at town's boxing club at The Hub at 6.30. People are being encouraged to arrive earlier.
