Today marks the 76th anniversary of Douglas Hyde's death.
He was born in Castlerea in 1860 before going on to become the first President of Ireland in 1938.
An event called Parkrunabú is taking place in Castlerea Demesne this morning to mark the occasion.
Organised in partnership between Castlerea Parkrun and Craobh de hÍde, it begins at 9.30.
Those participating are encouraged to speak Irish while there will be traditional music on the day also.

Following the run, there will be a talk on contemporary pilgrimages in Ireland by Liz Murray.
Liz is a niece of Roscommon's All-Ireland winning football captain Jimmy Murray.
