Carrick train station to get long-awaited new car park

Carrick-on-Shannon train station is set to get a long-awaited and much-needed new car park.

Irish Rail has got access to land from the ESB for the new facility at Cortober.

A deal has been verbally agreed between both bodies and it’s now being finalised.

Local councillor Valerie Byrne says it’s very positive as there’s only limited car parking at the station.
