Carrick-on-Shannon's cinema sold - but not closing down

Carrick-on-Shannon's cinema has been sold - but it is not closing down.

Carrick Cineplex in Cortober has told customers to use gift vouchers by January 4th, 2026 - after which they won't be valid.

But it's understood a new operator will be taking over the business after it was sold recently.

The cinema has had a drop in customers in recent years as streaming services became more popular.
