Farmer Joe Higgins has been acknowledged for his contribution to dairy farming excellence at the Aurivo Milk Quality Awards.
The awards recognise the standard of excellence in dairy farming by the co-op's milk suppliers, as well as their dedication and commitment to milk production in the previous year.
Joe Higgins milks 100 cows on 100 acres in Carrick-on-Shannon and began in 2007.

His father and the rest of the family all help out on the farm and Joe credits his award to overall good hygiene.
