Two boats were destroyed in the blaze, but it has been confirmed no one was injured.

The boardwalk jetty in Carrick-on-Shannon has reopened after last night's massive fire.

Two boats were destroyed in the blaze, but it has been confirmed no one was injured.

A forensic examination took place at the scene today - and the garda water unit were there.

But the jetty has reopened in the past hour, after being closed since around 9 o'clock last night.

Speaking at the scene this morning, Carrick Chamber president Finola Armstrong-McGuire praised the emergency response:
