Cannabis plants worth over €300,000 seized at grow house in Athlone

Over 500 cannabis plants, worth almost half a million euro, have been seized in grow houses in Galway and Westmeath.
160 plants were seized during the search of a home in Ballinasloe on Friday, and a man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.

Another sophisticated grow house was found during a follow-up search at a home in Athlone, where 381 plants were seized, with an estimated value of €304,800.
The man has since been charged to appear before a special sitting of Galway District Court today.
