Calls have been made for increased MS support services locally. There over 300 known people in Sligo-Leitrim currently live with the condition. Cllr Brendan Barry tabled a motion at this month's meting of the Ballinamore MD.
He's urging the Minister for Health and HSE to fund a dedicated MS community support worker. The Sinn Féin representative feels the importance of the role cannot be overstated:
