A local councillor has called for the introduction of staged payments to increase applications for a Government housing scheme.
The Croí Cónaithe Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant Scheme was first introduced in 2022.
It's paid in arrears following the completion of work to bring vacant properties back into residential use.
Figures from the Department of Housing show that 92 properties in Leitrim have benefitted from the grant since its inception.
A total of €4.74 million in funding has been paid to applicants in the county in the past three years.
Cllr Paddy O'Rourke says the scheme would be even more successful with earlier payments:
Grants have also been issued in both Longford and Roscommon.
Department figures show that there have been 119 grants issued in Roscommon.
This totalled €6.8 million.
While Longford saw 63 grant approvals, totalling €3.4 million.
