Calls for investigation at well known Longford care home

Councillor Peggy Nolan had called for management at the centre to publicly address the issues, but says this hasn't happened.

A Longford Councillor is calling for a HSE investigation into the issues at a well known care home.

A HIQA inspection carried out last November at St Joseph's Care Centre on the Dublin Road in Longford Town described a significant decline in compliance over the last year.

Councillor Peggy Nolan had called for management at the centre to publicly address the issues and reassure staff, service members, their families and the general public.

However she says that has not happened and further action is now needed.

The Longford Councillor believes that the newest compliance report for the service shows a major departure from previous levels of staffing excellence.

She's calling on senior HSE management to investigate the issues as a priority:
