The Dáil has heard the need for greater water infrastructure in south Leitrim. Significant outages have impacted many areas including Cloone, Carrigallen and Aughnasheelin. It's felt this is due to the plant being over capacity.
Local TD Martin Kenny says it's a part of a wider problem nationally in terms of waste water. Sinn Féin's Agricultural spokesperson feels the situation is at breaking point:
