Calls for Ballinamore Ambulance Centre to be established

An Independent TD has called for an Ambulance Centre to be established in Ballinamore.

Deputy Marian Harkin says current ambulance response times in Leitrim are unacceptable.

Fianna Fáil councillor in Leitrim Gary Prior recently proposed that the HSE investigate the feasibility of establishing an ambulance base at Ballinamore Nursing Unit and the Primary Care Centre.

Deputy Harkin says establishing a base in Ballinamore should be a priority.
