A Roscommon councillor has called for a back up power supply to be provided for Fire Services Emergency Communications in the event of future storms.
Independent Cllr Micheal Frain raised the issue at today’s Roscommon County Council meeting.
He says during Storm Éowyn, the TETRA communication system went down due to power outages across the region.
Cllr Frain, who is also the Head of Ballaghaderreen Fire Station, says action must be taken.
