Call for new hotel in Boyle as town marks decade without one

The chairman of Boyle Municipal District is encouraging a developer to build a new hotel in north Roscommon.

There has been no hotel in Boyle for over 10 years since the Royal Hotel closed down.

Around 3,000 people live in the town and it has many tourist attractions, like Lough Key Forest Park and Boyle Abbey.

Councillor Tom Crosby says a hotel is badly needed.
