Bus Éireann have launched the process to install renewable infrastructure at their Athlone Maintenance Centre.
A planning application was lodged with Westmeath County Council last week for a new ESB Substation and Bus Éireann Electrical Building.
The infrastructure would include the associated ductwork to enable the charging of Bus Éireann's new electric buses.

County planners will make their decision in March.
