Burglary Offences Down Locally, With 30 Court Appearances Last Year

Figures from the Irish Courts Service show 30 people appeared before local courts for burglary offences in the first 9 months of last year.

It's hoped that burglary offences can continue to decrease locally.

Figures from the Irish Courts Service show 30 people appeared before local courts for burglary offences in the first 9 months of last year.

A total of 15 people came before the District and Circuit Courts in Roscommon whilst 13 appeared in Longford.

Just two people appeared before the courts in Carrick on Shannon during the first 9 months of 2025.

Local Cllr Seamus Butler has been outlining the reasons behind the drop:

Cllr Butler, who is a former member of the joint policing committee does feel, however, that other crimes have increased:
