Burglary levels across the Shannonside region are significantly lower than they were ten years ago. That's according to research compiled by Phonewatch, which studied data from the Central Statistics Office. The analysis shows burglaries in the Roscommon-Longford Garda Division were down 45% in 2024 compared to 2014.
Burglaries in the Sligo-Leitrim Garda Division were also down 63% last year compared to statistics ten years ago. Roscommon Councillor Micheal Frain has been reacting to the statistics:
