Brideswell NS named junior county winner of national art competition

The "Someone Like Me" art competition was created as part of the National Disability Authority's work to nurture positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities.

A Roscommon school has been named junior county winner of the "Someone Like Me" national art competition.

Brideswell National School was awarded at a ceremony at Dublin City Hall on Wednesday. The "Someone Like Me" art competition was created as part of the National Disability Authority's work to nurture positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities. The local winning class produced artwork which reflected their learning about visible and invisible disabilities.

Speaking on Let's Talk earlier this week, principal and teacher at Brideswell NS, Orla Fogarty, described what she believes to be the best way to teach young children about disabilities:
