The Minister for Agriculture has been urged to simplify farmer supports by a local Senator in the Chamber today.
Senator Paraic Brady called on Minister Martin Heydon to reduce red tape and unnecessary paperwork that farmers face in both applying for and taking part in schemes.
The Senator says that schemes such as CRISS, TAMMs and BISS have become top heavy and are forcing farmers to jump through hoops.
The newly elected Senator says that farmers are spending huge amounts of time and effort in keeping up with the current requirements.
He's called on the Minister for Agriculture to let farmers do what they do best:
