A young boy has died after being struck by a car in Mullingar in Co Westmeath.
It happened shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening, at the Farranshock Estate.
He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The scene remained sealed off overnight and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
