Bord na Móna have come under fire for their approach to local areas on the floor of the Dáil. Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice raised the matter as part of a Private Members Bill on Wind Turbine Regulation. The Independent Ireland representative previously Michael stated his opposition to wind farms. Plans have been lodged for two wind farms in the county in recent weeks. Carrigeen Power Limited is proposing to build around 11 wind turbines in west Roscommon. While six wind turbines are planned for Ballyfeeney in north Roscommon.
