Bomb disposal experts attended the scene of a suspicious explosive device in Co. Roscommon over the weekend.
Gardaí received the report and made enquiries at a location on Elphin Street in Strokestown on Saturday 4th January.
The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded to a request for assistance from Gardaí in their investigation of a suspected historic explosive device.
Following an assessment, it was deduced that no explosive material was present and the scene was handed over to Gardaí.
