The Bishop of Elphin and Achonry has welcomed the veneration of a local priest by the Vatican. Father Edward Flanagan from Ballymoe is now on his way to becoming a saint. Born in 1886, he's best known for founding Boystown in the United States and his support of young people. The Vatican recognised his 'heroic virtue', highlighting his lifelong dedication to standing up against sectarianism and welcoming young people of all races and religions. Bishop Kevin Doran says Fr Edward Flanagan made a difference in many children's lives:
