The installation of the new bishop for Ardagh and Clonmacnoise is due to take place next month.
In April, Mullingar native Fr Paul Connell was appointed to the role having served in the diocese of Meath and as a former president of St. Finian's College.
The ordination will take place on June 18th at 3pm in St. Mel's Cathedral in Longford.

Clergy, family, friends and diocesan representatives will attend the installation.
The local diocese was left without a bishop for more than 15 months following the appointment of Francis Duffy as the Archbishop of Tuam.
