Ballinamore's Island Theatre has been announced as one of the recipients of the Community Services Programme Funding for 2026. It gives financial support to not-for-profit community companies and co-operatives to help with the cost of hiring staff.
Minister of State for Rural and Community Development, Jerry Buttimer visited the town earlier. Speaking to Shannonside FM, Minister Buttimer highlighted the role of the existing volunteers, who will remain a central part of the area:
