Ita Reynolds Flynn has been appointed as the new cathoirleach of Leitrim County Council.
The Fine Gael councillor for the Ballinamore Municipal District was elected to the position at today's Annual General Meeting of the council.
She has replaced Fianna Fail's Paddy O'Rourke in the hot seat for the upcoming term.

Manorhamilton Municipal District's Sean McDermott has also been appointed Leas Cathoirleach of the council.
