People are being urged to check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours after an incident in Ballaghaderreen recently.

The local Tidy Towns group has shared details of an incident where someone who fell on ice at the rear of their home was unable to raise the alarm for an hour.

Local fire services attended the scene and the group is asking all locals to check in on people who may have mobility issues or may be vulnerable ahead of the very cold weather which is due to hit in the coming days.
