The average price of a house purchased in the Shannonside region was just over €250,000 so far this year.
The CSO's Residential Property Price Index report revealed 94 houses have been sold in the region in the 12 months to August 2025.
The Central Statistics Office provided a breakdown of the mean price of homes and the amount of houses sold so far per residential area.
This year, 94 homes were sold in the Shannonside region - out of these, 27 owners were first-time buyers.
Athlone recorded the highest average cost of homes purchased at €340,701.
This is followed by Roscommon at €331,147, and €248,000 in Carrick-on-Shannon.
While in Longford, the mean price of a dwelling purchased in the 12 months to August of this year was €231,000.
The average price in Boyle was €206,600, while in Castlerea, it was €153,800.
Nationally, the Residential Property Price Index increased by 7.4% in the 12 months to August 2025, with no change from the 7.4% recorded in the year to July.
The most expensive Eircode area over the 12 months to August 2025 was Blackrock, Dublin with a median price of €797,500, while Castlerea, in Co. Roscommon had the least expensive price of €148,000.
