The proposal, under which Aurivo would hold a minority interest, would mean the relocation of Aurivo headquarters in Sligo to Belfast.

A meeting with Aurivo shareholders will be taking place in Co Roscommon tonight over a potential merger between the co-op and Dale Farm Foods.

The proposal, under which Aurivo would hold a minority interest, would mean the relocation of Aurivo headquarters in Sligo to Belfast.

Aurivo specialises in the production of liquid milk, powders and butter and has a state-of-the-art production factory in Ballaghaderreen.

Talks will continue tonight at a meeting, which will be taking place in the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon town at 8pm.

Irish Farmers Journal dairy editor, Aidan Brennan, says both parties feel there is benefit to the proposal:
