Athlone records temperature of 30 degrees celsius

With the heat expected to peak between 3pm and 5pm today, the public is urged to enjoy the hot weather safely and to protect skin and eyes from sun radiation. 

Athlone has recorded the country's third highest temperature today.
Temperatures reached 30 degrees celsius in the Co. Westmeath town.
The same temperature was also recorded in Durrow, Co. Laois.

The highest temperature in the country was recorded in Tandragee, Co. Armagh, at 31 degrees celsius.
With the heat expected to peak between 3pm and 5pm today, the public is urged to enjoy the hot weather safely and to protect skin and eyes from sun radiation.
