The OPW Minister says further work is needed before plans can progress to turn Athlone into Ireland's first green city. Developer Sean Mulryan and Ballymore hope to complete the project by 2040.
Following a presentation to Roscommon councillors earlier this year, Mulryan said the Government now needs to progress the plans. Local Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran is in favour of the plans but says it will take time:
